Discography (2012-2015, North Carolina)

1.
when I stare out on these vacant lots I don't think of the times we lost instead I think of the promises made that we'd survive to see better days bruised feet running empty streets blackeyes and skipped heartbeats first tries and first defeats final times and broken dreams so now I ask, are you screaming just like me? or have you resigned? asleep with complacency...(did you fall asleep?) looking out on these hollow faces skeletons haunting office spaces I'm dreaming of far off places I'm plotting my paths and packing my bags 'cause I'm never ever giving in never again (lyrics by JP Brown)
2.
step by step, fall down and we can't believe with each day dawns, and each breath drawn we suffocate beneath these lies they fight to feed me and this world that won't defeat me each hope we bear and carry on we carry on will we bend until we break left standing empty handed sold barren dreams and in the dead of night draw close, the sun will rise a new day rise and in these days when all is dark and the heartless reign and the cost of living's defeat a price paid dying on our knees in this tale of damage done it's up to us to choose the sun to turn the page to start again when this world weighs heavy on you and you've got nowhere to turn to it's the hope that survives it's got to come from inside when the dark's closing around you and you've got nothing to hold on to it's the hope that survives it's got to come from inside got to come from inside it's the hope that survives
3.
in these numbered days I know if the clock runs out on us the curtain call, if our time is up did we wait for better days? to turn and find that it's too late did we choose to wander blind? close your eyes on borrowed time breathe in, count down the days breathe out and it's too late these desperate days pass us by we breathe, we sleep, survive, we stand by we fill our aching hearts with empty words and false starts our rage and anger fall apart but I'm not a number and I'm not the same and if we're born to suffer then I'm not the same how does it feel to know? we stood aside and watched it all go we've waited long enough, as the world burns down around us their time runs out, the time is now will you drown in regret? no I'm not the same close your eyes to forget? no I'm not the same and if it all crashes down on us I won't give in, I won't give up so if the clock runs out on us and all their promises turn to dust let's live and breathe for better days before we find that it's too late trust in what we're fighting for believe our lives mean something more breathe in, count down the days breathe out and it's too late
4.
today the sun all again lie awake in a world of dead ends where every screen, every page sells her reflections of failure and shame so she waits slave to fate in a world that counts you second rate one more day one more chain every dream dies the same when the choice is to honor, obey words leave scars, break my heart it's hard to see in a world so dark so how long must she wait? shout him down, seize your right, no mistake every chain every cage breaks the same in every silence another defeat in stares and voices endured on the street we close our eyes we turn aside while she struggles to rise, survive refuse revolt resist every chain every cage breaks the same
5.
a price tag is on your future a future not yours to sell a judge walks into the picture so picture yourself in hell but did the crime fit the punishment? payment influenced judgement steel bars and cement are waiting for you you cannot go back now no rights, no council nothing you do can alter what's coming to you thoroughly corrupted administration of justice serve and collect youth interrupted your life obstructed serve and collect the distance to their blackened hearts is infinite when divided in parts The damage done was worth every dime if you speak out you only get more time young dreams just went straight into their pockets crushing spirits, crushing spirits for big profits GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY over and over again for guilty verdicts cash comes pouring in
6.
I'm... attempting... escaping from the hands that shape our fate glass walls intended to break we've been here before that look on their face bad in your mouth is the taste absorb every blow that they deliver houses are warm but inside they shiver they're trapped inside still they deny that something is missing and their hearts are freezing cold I've waited so long for some sort of answer clocks don't stop ticking, I'm feeling the pressure I fight with myself and everyone else running, I'm running away searching for a new way out
7.
seasons change and in our short days when we're gone, what's left to say so here's to the next to fade to the ghosts of promises made when hopes and heart turn to dust in hand if our screams and shouts come to quiet ends and the passing years turn hearts to stone if the lights go down and we're left alone I know these days go by so fast our youth expires, our moments pass so don't tell me what it meant tell me what it means, not how it ends because we've had enough of doubt "you're too old to care, you're too young to count" tell me is growing up a kiss goodbye to how you felt so much did they tell you it was all in vain trade your hopes for fears, your dreams for a cage so let's wear our hearts on sleeves because every second changes everything and it's what we do with this, anything but call it quits if time is running out, let's make it count
8.
basements deep, and oceans wide a clean well lighted place to hide we thought our secret was safe well, all in good time hearts on sleeves, brothers in arms, with nothing in mind. shoulder to shoulder, side by side, despite a common ground we've yet to find just triggers in leash with nothing in mind
9.
bitter of heart, righteous with hate head full of lies you are enslaved ignorance kept alive below your prejudice bullshit is starting to show turn it off, before ever tuning in shut down, before it starts again closed eyes and mind blinded by fear try to divide, intentions clear parading your creed of intolerance dealing in scapegoats and discontent turn it off, before ever tuning in shut down, before it starts again and to a tradition of cowards a tradition of shame your worthless pride, your narrow mind so save your breath this time a tradition of sorrow a tradition of pain hiding behind fashion and lies a history you can't disguise
10.
artificial restlessness is a part of it and the quickest way out is to quit endless negativity takes it toll on me a view so dark that I can't see consume or create consume or can we give back make a change we must suppress the thought that we can't build what we want we'll never beat the other side and I've tried, I've tried, I've tried sever all your ties to proceed in disguise just walk away, just close your eyes the one thing that still holds true, your apathy move up, move on, move out of sight consume or create consume or can we give back make a change did you give your heart away all bridges burned in escape keep build…keep building because 'cause I want to leave this place… leave it better than we found it
